Culture and history

In the historic centre of Pelhřimov, Renaissance townhouses with arcades and sgraffito façades stand alongside Historicist, Art Nouveau, Cubist and Functionalist architecture. Želiv Brewery uses traditional brewing methods and offers classic lagers as well as speciality beers. Its tours include a visit to the production process and a beer tasting.

Transport

As of 11 August 2026, express bus route 401 connects Prague with Pelhřimov via Loket, Čechtice and Křelovice. Between Prague and Loket, it uses the D1 motorway.
