Bratřice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Bratřice lies below the 744-metre-high Stražiště hill, which is regarded in the municipality as the dominant landscape feature of the entire region. At the same time, the written history of the village dates back to 1273.

History and village culture

In the centre of Bratřice stands the Kaplička, a square village chapel from the first half of the 19th century, which is listed as an immovable cultural monument. It stands in the middle of the village square in a park-like setting. Provaznictví at Bratřice No. 51 includes a small rural homestead from the early 20th century with an attached rope-making workshop. The former Jarolímka glassworks near the settlement of Cetule also bears witness to the local past; it was in operation for more than 40 years.

Landscape, trails and Stražiště

There are hiking trails in the forests around Bratřice, while the paved paths around the village are suitable for cycling. The Sovova educational trail leads from Pacov via Bratřice and Stražiště mountain to Lukavec. Bratřice is also connected by a 5-kilometre route to the destination at Stražiště as part of the “Sovovou stezkou na vrch Stražiště” trail. The Chapel of Saint John the Baptist was built on Stražiště in the first half of the 19th century.
