Kosetice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The origins of the Church of St. John the Baptist in Košetice date back to the Middle Ages. The single-nave building has a rectangular presbytery, a prismatic tower and two Baroque statues of saints.

Culture

The Jewish cemetery of Košetice is located in a wooded area southeast of Košetice. Its oldest gravestones date from the early 18th century; the cemetery is freely accessible.

The former synagogue of Košetice, house number 76, was built around the first half of the 19th century and is now used as a residential building.

The Chapel of the Passion of Christ in Košetice is classified as a protected cultural monument.

History

The grounds of Starý zámek include a park adjoining the chateau and farmyard on the south, west and north sides. The park consists of three interconnected areas of different character. Starý zámek is classified as a protected cultural monument.

Nový zámek was created in the 1720s by converting an abandoned rectory. It is privately owned and is currently not open to the public.

The bonus stage of the Santiniho stezka leads from Červená Řečice over 11 km to the chateau in Košetice. At “Kolem dokola Košeticka”, the recommended hiking and cycling routes are signposted; some of them run along forest and field tracks as well as forest paths.

“Kolem dokola Košeticka” is a recurring cycling and hiking event in Košetice. The 8th edition took place on 26 August 2023.
