History and Culture
Hojanovice was first mentioned in writing in 1318, when it was recorded as belonging to the Želiv estate. In the middle of the lower village square stands a simple prismatic chapel, built after 1858 and dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The replacement bell for the chapel was hung and consecrated together with the chapel in spring 1948.
The Hojanovice Volunteer Fire Brigade was founded on 7 September 1902. A restored hand-operated fire pump is used in Hojanovice during demonstrations and exercises as a unique museum piece.
The ruins of Orlík and Želivský Kláštor Monastery are located in the vicinity of Hojanovice. A stone cross dating from 1885 stands on the road in V Osinách; from there, there is a view of the reservoir and Ježov. The Church of Saint Anne and the Church of Saint John are located in the wider regional surroundings of Hojanovice.
Transport
The main road from Ledeč nad Sázavou to Humpolec runs through Hojanovice. All settlements in the territory of Hojanovice are served by bus routes.
