The Kejtovské louky natural monument is located about 0.5 km west of Eš and in the surrounding area. It protects a naturally meandering watercourse as well as species-rich wet and peat meadows with specially protected plant and animal species.

Kovárník is one of two ponds that the municipality of Eš owns directly in the village. The two ponds in Eš are regularly stocked and fished out. An unnamed stream from Skalický rybník runs through Eš and continues through four smaller ponds.

History and Village Character

The first written mention of Eš dates from 1415. The pseudo-Gothic Chapel of Saint Mary Magdalene dates from 1866 and was consecrated on 22 July 1866.

Farmhouse No. 20 in Eš is a reconstructed wooden house that was restored in accordance with its original form and construction techniques. Several buildings in Eš preserve historic façades dating from around the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries.

The Boží muka wayside shrine stands on Road II/128 in Eš. It bears an inscription commemorating Václav Mareš from Eš, who went missing.

Location and Routes

Eš lies 5 km south of Pacov. Road II/128 between Lukavec and Pacov is signposted as a cycle route and runs through Eš.

The protected zone of Kámen Castle encompasses land in the cadastral areas of Kámen, Eš, D. Voda and Věžná.
