Těmice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Těmice offers several clearly distinct facets: sacred architectural heritage, protected nature and local festivals.

Culture

The Church of St. John the Evangelist in Těmice is a listed, single-nave church that is Gothic at its core, with a prismatic tower, later modifications, a rectangular presbytery and a rectangular sacristy. It has been mentioned in historical sources since 1359. A Mass valid for Sunday is currently celebrated there regularly on Saturdays.

In the wider region around Těmice are Janštejn, a ruin, and Želivský Kláštor, a monastery. Also located in the wider region are Svatá Anna, a church, and Roštejn (Doupě), a castle.

Nature

The Rybníček u Starých Hutí natural monument is located in the Pelhřimov District, in the municipality of Těmice, in the cadastral area of Těmice u Kamenice nad Lipou. It protects preserved natural communities with populations of critically endangered plant and animal species, including round-leaved sundew (Drosera rotundifolia), whorled loosestrife (Naumburgia thyrsifolia), minnows (Phoxinus phoxinus) and amphibians (Amphibia spp.).

The landscape around Těmice includes the mountains of Orlov, Tlučin, Vrchy and Troják.

Cycling

The existing local cycling route 321 runs from Kamenice nad Lipou via Těmice to Kámen.

Events

On 1 March 2025, a Masopust was held in Těmice and advertised as traditional and revived. During the Masopust, people in masks gathered at the cultural centre, after which the procession made its way through the village; in the evening, a social gathering was held at the cultural centre. The event was suitable for children.

The festival marking the end of the holidays, announced for 22 August 2026 behind the outdoor swimming pool in Těmice, was planned to include activities for children, bouncy castles, foam and refreshments; it was intended as a family and children's event.
