Důl: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Cycle route No. 321 passes through Důl and runs from Jindřichův Hradec to Louňovice pod Blaníkem.

Routes and Orientation

There are two crosses at different locations on the access roads. A stone cross stands approximately 200 m before the Důl town sign on the main access road. An iron cross on a stone pedestal is located approximately 50 m before the Důl town sign, near a turnoff to a field path.

The blue-marked Pelhřimov–Mladá Vožice hiking trail also passes through Důl. Rybník Dolák lies on the main route of cycle route No. 321, which connects Kamenice nad Lipou, Pacov and Načeradec. The 34.6 km circular cycle route “The Beautiful Nature from Pacov to Kámen Castle” also runs from Pacov through Důl; in its list, Důl is named as the second stop after Pacov.

Water and Landscape

Rybník Dolák is located 800 m north of Důl, below a hill at the turnoff from Pošenská Road to Důl. On hot summer days, people visit the pond for swimming and relaxation. Rybník Dolák was reconstructed in 2009.

The landscape of Důl also includes larger and smaller picturesque private ponds, where kingfishers or herons can occasionally be observed. Meadows along the Novodvorský Stream line the western side of Důl.

On the hill southeast of Důl in the direction of Vrchy lies Třešňovka, a revitalized orchard. In addition to cherry trees, pear, plum and walnut trees were also planted there. The “Nad třešňovou alejí” viewpoint offers a view of Pošná.

Culture and History

In Důl, the Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk is among the municipality’s historic monuments. Another contemporary historical feature is the local tradition of ceremonially switching on the Christmas lights on Dolská náves. The event took place in 2024 and 2025.

Kámen Castle in the municipality of Kámen lies less than 4 km south of Důl. The originally Gothic castle dates back to the 13th century and houses permanent exhibitions of historic motorcycles as well as 19th-century housing and lifestyle.

In the municipality of Nová Ves, the stone railway viaduct is an example of bridge construction from the late 19th century. It consists of eleven arched openings and is a distinctive landscape-shaping feature.
