Landscape and Trails

The European watershed between the Elbe and Danube runs through Nová Buková. A yellow-marked hiking trail also passes through the village. The southern part of the cadastral area of Nová Buková is designated as a landscape area of value, mostly forested and including a body of water.

History and Culture

A former fortress in Nová Buková was built at the end of the 16th century by Arnošt Leskovec of Leskovec. The chapel in Nová Buková was consecrated in 1901; its construction was financed through contributions from local residents. About 200 metres beyond Nová Buková in the direction of Horní Cerekev stands a monument commemorating the creation of independent Czechoslovakia.

Janštejn is a ruin in the surroundings of Nová Buková. The surrounding area also includes Bražský kopec as a mountain, Lisek as a mountain, Roštejn [Doupě] as a castle, Strahovice as a mountain, Putimovský vrch as a mountain and Svatá Anna as a church. Orlík is a ruin in the wider regional surroundings of Nová Buková.

Train Station

Nová Buková railway station is located on line 224 between Tábor and Horní Cerekev, with a continuation to Jihlava. There is no ticket counter at the station; tickets are sold on the train.
