Píšť: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Píšť is located on the left bank of the Želivka Reservoir. The first written mention of Píšť dates back to 1352.

History and Culture

The Rachyňský mlýn mill on the Blažejovický Stream was already in existence before 1748. In 1890, it had two overshot water wheels. Milling ceased at the mill after 1950, but the machinery was preserved.

The bell in the chapel of Píšť is dedicated to Saint Vojtěch.

Water and Structures

The Vojslavický Bridge is a 229-metre-long double bridge over the Želivka Reservoir. A Class III road runs on the lower level, while the D1 motorway is twelve metres higher.

The lower arch bridge of the Vojslavický Bridge dates from 1939 to 1950. It was not put into operation until the construction of the upper motorway bridge from 1975 to 1979 and is listed as an immovable cultural monument of the Czech Republic. The area of the Vojslavický Bridge includes the cadastral territories of Vojslavice nad Želivkou, Píšť u Humpolce, Hroznětice and Vranice u Humpolce.

Nature and Educational Trail

The Želivka protected area is home to the species kuřička hadcová, netopýr černý and bolen dravý.

The Píšť Educational Trail is approximately 1.5 kilometres long. It begins in the Vranice district and ends at the sports field in Píšť. It has ten stations with information boards, tasks or puzzles for children.

Direct bus connections from Píšť run to Zruč nad Sázavou and Pelhřimov.
