Culture and history
The parish Church of St James the Elder in Veselá is a cultural and historical monument. Its preserved stone Gothic form dates from the post-Hussite period, from the mid-15th century. The church has an almost square nave, a western tower, an eastern chancel and a sacristy added in 1856.
Nature
Veselá is surrounded by extensive forests. The area around Veselá offers walks in the forests. A tourist route connects Veselá and Houserovka; it is named after the actress Marie Kurandová.
Events
The traditional Rybářské závody in Veselá take place at Jandovec pond. The Noční hra is also one of the town's events: The 2023 edition attracted more than 80 children, and its route led through an enchanted forest and included 12 stations with tasks for children. As part of the Veselská pouť, a church service was held in the church on 30 July 2023.
