Landscape and Village Character

Útěchovice is located in the western part of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands, in surroundings typical of the foothill landscape of the region. The village has a horseshoe-shaped, not completely circular settlement layout. Most buildings are Franconian-type farmsteads with enclosed courtyards as well as residential and farm buildings.

The Útěchovický potok flows through Útěchovice and through the centre of its cadastral area. The Bořetický potok flows through the northwestern part of the Útěchovice cadastral area. The area has high natural value and is not characterised by industrial use.

Culture and History

On the village square in Útěchovice, next to the chapel, there is a monument to the victims of the First World War from 1914 to 1918. The first written mention of Útěchovice dates back to 1301.

The reconstructed former Račín water mill is located northwest of Útěchovice. It is believed to have existed as early as before 1712.

Connections and Cycle Path

Útěchovice is located on the class III road III/11235. The village is not connected to the ČD railway network. Cycle path 1218 leads through Útěchovice and continues via Miločtíky to Červená Řečice.
