Čelistná: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Čelistná lies in a small valley in the western part of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. The village is located 9 km south of Pelhřimov and belongs to the Pelhřimovsko-Jih area. Community life centres around a multifunctional building with a small hall, a restaurant and a shop, all of which are used by the wider public.

Nature

The Troják mountain is located near Čelistná. The surrounding area also includes the Orlov, Bělský Kopec and Putimovský vrch mountains. On the route to Čelistná, the trail follows the yellow markings along a dirt track through a picturesque valley. A hiking trail passes through Čelistná.

Culture and history

Janštejn is a ruin in the vicinity of Čelistná. The Church of Svatá Anna is also located nearby. In the wider region are Roštejn Castle [Doupě] and the Želivský Kláštor Monastery.

The Svornost theatre association was founded in Čelistná in 1929. According to reports, some performances took place beside a beech tree estimated to be 300 years old. Behind Čelistná, beside a dirt track, stands a wayside niche chapel with a cross; there is also a wayside cross on a field boundary. The Václav Bukač monument stands south of Čelistná at the edge of the forest, on a right-hand bend of the road to Vlásenice-Drbohlavy.

The chapel in Čelistná is listed as a stop on a hiking route around Pelhřimov.
