Samšín: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

On the village square in Samšín stands the Chapel of St. John of Nepomuk near Pacov. Together with historical traces, landscape landmarks, a blueberry farm and special events, the village reveals itself from several perspectives.

Culture and History

Samšín is first mentioned in an urbarium of Oldřich of Rožmberk from the period before 1373, in the form “Sampschin”. Until the abolition of the manorial administration in 1849, Samšín belonged to the Pacov estate.

The Želivský Kláštor Monastery and the churches of Svatý Jan and Svatá Anna are located in the surroundings of Samšín. The Orlík ruins are also situated in the wider regional area.

Landscape and Trails

From the bus stop opposite the turn-off to Samšín, there is a view of Stražiště Hill and the neighboring municipality of Velká Chyška. Cycle Route No. 1218 Pacov–Želiv passes through Samšín.

Cetoraz Hill, Vrchy Hill and Orlov Hill are located in the surroundings of Samšín. Putimovský vrch is situated in the wider regional area of the village.

The Samšín Cup is a sports and social event held annually near Samšín. The Samšín Cup features a volleyball tournament for pairs, including mixed pairs, on an unusual playing field specific to the event. On 20 July 2024, the fourth round of the Pelhřimovská hasičská liga took place in Samšín.
