The first written mention of Dobrá Voda dates from 1414; from 1572 onward, Dobrá Voda was part of the Pelhřimov estate.
Notable personalities
Several notable personalities are associated with Dobrá Voda. MUDr. Jaroslav Kos, DrSc., was born in Dobrá Voda in 1917; he became a professor of anatomy. The geologist and palaeontologist Jan Kušta came from the village district of Rohovka. Jan Vladimír Průša (1906–1930) also came from Dobrá Voda and is considered a literary talent who died at an early age.
Cycling and horse riding
The “Okolo lomu k evropskému rozvodí” cycling route passes through Dobrá Voda. It is 34.5 kilometres long. In addition, the green-marked “Jezdecká stezka Litohošť – Sosnový les” bridleway runs for 92 kilometres through fields and grassy paths.
Landscape and transport
Dobrá Voda is located in the Želivka–Švihov water protection area. Dobrá Voda u Pelhřimova railway station is integrated into the Vysočina Region's integrated transport system. It is located on railway line 224 between Tábor and Horní Cerekev; the line continues towards Jihlava.
