Cetoraz: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Cetoraz has a distinct character shaped by history, water and forests. Historic buildings are just as central to the area as its ponds and wooded surroundings.

Culture

St. Wenceslas Church stands on a slight elevation at the eastern end of Cetoraz, on the road near the village square. The originally Gothic church was built in Cetoraz in 1350; together with the rectory and the grounds, it is protected by law as a historic monument. The church also has the older Václav bell, which was made in 1512.

Another historic feature can be found in the local cemetery of Cetoraz: the Deym Crypt was built in 1821 after the death of Christina Deym. It is a Neoclassical, brick-built rectangular chapel with a deep niche framed by half-columns. A stone tomb slab bearing the Brady–Deym alliance coat of arms is built into this niche. A chapel dedicated to Saint John of Nepomuk is also located in Jánsku in Cetoraz.

Water and Nature

The Vodický stream forms a cascade of ponds used for recreational purposes, covering a total water surface of 22 hectares. The ponds near Cetoraz offer opportunities for swimming. On the outskirts of Cetoraz also stands the Cetorazský oak, a tree protected as a natural monument.
