Culture
The remains of Vojslavice Fortress lie approximately 150 metres south of the built-up area in a wooded area on a rocky spur. An earthwork rampart and a wide ditch separate it from the surrounding area. The site can be reached from the southwestern edge of the village square via a sunken lane and then along the edge of the field to the forest.
History
The Baroque Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary stands in the central part of the village square. It includes a cemetery and the former rectory; it was remodelled by J. Santini in 1721–1723. Since the 1720s, Vojslavice has been known for Marian pilgrimages. These were mainly associated with a small statue that the faithful called “Uzdravení nemocných”.
In 1841, a Neoclassical rural folk farmhouse with an extensive farm area was built in the northwestern part of the village square. In the western part there is a Neoclassical rural farm complex dating from 1842, which forms a valuable urban-planning component of the built-up area.
Landscape
Vojslavice lies on the right bank of the Želivka. Near Humpolec in the Vysočina Region, the unique two-storey “Vojslavický most” bridge spans the Želivka valley. Its lower arch bridge, built between 1939 and 1950, now carries a Class III road connecting Vojslavice and Hořice. The lower level offers a view of the Švihov Reservoir.
