Bácovice is situated on the left bank of the Hejlovka River. The blue-marked historic trail between Červená Řečice and Pelhřimov passes through Bácovice.
Trails and landscape
Before Bácovice, a viewpoint branches off behind the chapel at an altitude of 574 metres. The mountains Putimovský vrch, Orlov and Špičák are located in the surrounding area.
The “Trasa po pokladech Pelhřimovska” cycling route is 53 kilometres long and classified as difficult. It passes the “Bácovice roz.” waypoint.
The sports field in Bácovice is freely accessible 24 hours a day.
Culture and architectural history
The preserved Červený Mlýn mill is located in the cadastral area of Bácovice. The field chapel near Bácovice received new interior plaster and new doors during a volunteer repair project.
Farmhouse No. 3 contains a two-part stable with a square vault and stone columns with simple capitals dating from the first half of the 19th century.
The Želivský Kláštor monastery and the churches of Svatá Anna and Svatý Jan are located in the vicinity of Bácovice. Further afield in the region around Bácovice lies the Orlík ruin; Mount Troják is also located there.
