Křeč: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

At the Church of St. James the Elder in Křeč, preserved remains of a Romanesque rotunda indicate that the area of present-day Křeč was already settled in the 12th century. The church stands on a hill in the southern part of Křeč and is visible from a great distance. Inside, it features 14th-century frescoes.

Culture and history

The parish complex in Křeč in the Pelhřimov District was restored between 2016 and 2018. During the restoration, preserved painted decorations featuring small rose blossoms were discovered on wooden shutters and conserved. The complex includes a single-storey residential building dating from the second half of the 18th century. House No. 5 is another remarkable building in Křeč.

Hrádek Castle also bears witness to the history of the area. It stood on a hill and was fortified by walls and rocks. Hrádek Castle in the Josafatské Valley northwest of Křeč is mentioned in the land register of the Rosenberg estates from 1379. On the right-hand side of the road from Křeč to Černovice stands a stone chalice-shaped monument at the presumed site of the battle.

Landscape

The municipal territory of Křeč lies on a deforested upland atypical of the western edge of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. Cycle Route No. 6 runs through Křeč. The southeastern edge of the cadastral area of Křeč is formed by the Javornička stream, while the Křečský potok stream rises at the village pond in Křeč.

In the immediate vicinity south of Křeč lies the settlement of Svatá Anna in a wooded area; a church of the same name stands there.
