Těchobuz: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Po pamětihodnostech Těchobuze educational trail consists of two circular routes. Its shorter route leads through the village and provides insights into historic buildings.

Culture and history

Těchobuz Castle is based on a fortress dating from the 14th century. Bernardo Bolzano stayed there from 1823 to 1848. The Bernarda Bolzana Gallery is housed in a former castle barn; the cellar and the originally preserved supporting structures have survived there.

The Bolzanova studánka spring is also associated with Bernardo Bolzano: he used the spring for working and resting. From Těchobuz Castle, it can be reached via the Po pamětihodnostech Těchobuze educational trail. According to local legend, Bolzano found the Hoffmanns' lost daughter there.

The former school in Těchobuz is a representative Neoclassical building erected in 1823 at the urging of Bernard Bolzano. The Cemetery Church of Saint Mark is a single-nave Gothic church first mentioned as early as 1338, which acquired its present appearance through a distinctive early Baroque renovation.

The Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk was built in 1826 as an Empire-style cemetery chapel with a circular floor plan and served as the Hoffmanns' family crypt. The polygonal, drive-through timber-framed barn is a remarkable example of vernacular architecture. It is considered a rare architectural monument of its type in the Vysočina Region and was completely reconstructed in 2013 and 2014.

Nature and landscape

The Mozaikou krajiny educational trail connects Těchobuz with Kozák Pond via a blue-marked hiking trail. It is 2.5 kilometres long and presents the local fauna and flora as well as the Pacovská pahorkatina on six information boards.

The Těchobuz castle park is a 19th-century landscape park with a central hornbeam avenue and an irregular network of paths.
