Olešná U Pelhřimova: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Olešná was first mentioned in 1379; at the same time, its cadastral area is hilly and very undulating. The name Olešná originally referred to a stream densely overgrown with alder trees.

Olešná is arranged irregularly along the Benešov–Jihlava state road. This road was built in 1846–1847.

The 27-kilometre Žirovský okruh route runs via Pelhřimov, Olešná, Chvojnov, Rybníček, Rohův mlýn, Žirov, Strměchy, Horní Strměchy, Plevnice and Chválov before returning to Pelhřimov. After 4.5 kilometres, it reaches the centre of Olešná, then continues along the road from Pelhřimov to Jihlava and turns uphill onto a small road at the edge of the village. As you climb towards Olešná along this route, you can enjoy a view of Křemešník, which lies 765 metres above sea level.
