Hradec Králové District: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
Hradec Králové District combines prominent cultural monuments with extensive forests and educational trails. One of the highlights is the Všestary Archaeopark, the sixth stop on an archaeological cycling route. Those wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Hradec Králové District can then continue their search for accommodation.
Culture
Hrádek u Nechanic was designed in the Tudor Gothic style and built between 1839 and 1857 as a representative summer residence for the Harrach family. The exhibition in the chateau presents aristocratic life in the second half of the 19th century using original historic furnishings. The chateau is located in a park established in 1844.
The building of the Museum of Eastern Bohemia has held the status of a national cultural monument since 1995. Another important site is the Třebechovice Probošt Nativity Scene: the nativity scene comprises more than 2,000 carved wooden pieces and is the only one in the Czech Republic to have been declared a national cultural monument.
The Všestary Archaeopark contains an open-air museum with reconstructions of buildings from the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age. It also features an exhibition on the production and use of polished stone axes in the later Stone Age, as well as a cave with paintings.
Nature
The Hradec Králové municipal forests cover 3,771 hectares; Scots pine accounts for 67 percent of the forest. The Funkce lesa educational trail runs through the Černá stráň nature monument. The Les Chlum educational trail introduces visitors to rare and protected plant species and has ten information boards and ten stations.
Trails and landscape
The park at Hrádek u Nechanic contains extensive meadows, mature groups of trees and embedded woodland. A circular trail offers views of the chateau, which stands on a gentle rise. The park covers approximately 18 hectares.
In the Hradec Králové municipal forests, the blue wheelchair route begins at the terminus of bus 9 near the Lesní hřbitov cemetery. The Vodnická stezka is an easy trail approximately 2 kilometres long. The Stezka siluet is about half a kilometre long and has nine silhouette panels.
