Světí: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Church of St. Andrew stands in Světí. It is an oriented single-nave building with a rectangular nave, a narrower presbytery with a semicircular apse, and a prismatic west tower. Since 3 May 1958, it has been protected as an immovable cultural monument.

Landscape and educational trail

South of Světí, the Rybník Mlýnek pond lies on the Melounka stream. It is associated with a former manorial mill; according to folk traditions, the pond may have been created in the second half of the 17th century in connection with the construction of this mill.

The educational trail “Life in the Water, Forest and Fields” was ceremonially opened on 27 September 2014 in the Na Panně area of Světí. It comprises five information stations, three of which are additionally equipped with benches. An insect hotel was installed near the trail’s final information board.

History and culture

Světí lies in the landscape heritage zone “Areál bojiště bitvy u Hradce Králové”, which was designated by Decree No. 208/1996 Coll. of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic dated 1 July 1996. Světí is also one of the ten municipalities of the Microregion of the Municipalities of the 1866 Heritage Zone; these municipalities were the most heavily affected by the decisive battle of the war of 1866.

In the garden of House No. 6 in Světí, Silesian settlement pits were discovered in 1902. People were already living in Světí during the Late Bronze Age; settlement pits have survived from this period. The medieval and modern-era centre of Světí is designated “13-22-17/31 Světí – středověké a novověké jádro obce I”.

The Chapel of the Holy Family stands near the hamlet of Zavadilka. It depicts the return of the Holy Family from Egypt to their homeland. According to the inscription, Josef and Anna Slívkovi had the chapel built in 1845.
