The Smírčí kámen is a cultural heritage site of local importance dating from 1713 and is located south of Homolák Pond in the Klamoš district.
Culture and Local History
In the centre of Klamoš, there is a stone cross with the body of Christ beside the fire station. A memorial to the victims of the Second World War is located by the municipal office.
A wooden bell tower stands in the centre of the Štít district. Also in Štít, Myslivna, house no. 19, is designated as a cultural heritage site of local importance. The district’s community centre houses the Minimuzeum Sovův koutek, dedicated to the poet Antonín Sova.
The oldest written mention of Klamoš dates from 1356 and is found in church registers in the archive of Prague Castle.
The Boží muka were erected in 1852 in the centre of Klamoš, after the robot obligation was abolished in 1849 and the people were freed. The Socha svobody was ceremonially unveiled on 19 July 1925.
Nature and Bodies of Water
To the southeast, beyond Klamoš on the road to Přepych, stands the Klamošská lípa, a protected memorial tree. It is a small-leaved lime tree with a trunk circumference of 400 cm and a height of 20 m.
South of the built-up area of Štít, the Sovův dub, a protected memorial tree, stands in a forest complex. The English oak has a trunk circumference of 549 cm and a height of 25.1 m.
The regional biocorridor centre RBC 1754 Klamošsko is located in a forest complex in the cadastral area of Klamoš on the NRBK K71 MH.
Homolák Pond is a 0.64-hectare body of water in the built-up area of Klamoš.
Jezero Štít is part of the Štít fishing district. This district comprises three interconnected lakes and has a total area of 62 hectares; it lies between Pamětník and Štít, near Chlumec nad Cidlinou.
Leisure and Accessibility
Klamoš has permanently designated areas for football and multi-purpose use, as well as a children’s playground. The Chlumecký okruh z Břehů cycle route passes through Klamoš.
The nearby I/36 road provides Klamoš with access to the D11 motorway. It does not run directly through the territory of Klamoš, but is in the immediate vicinity.
