Syrovátka: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Cycle Route 4200 from Pardubice to Hrádek u Nechanic runs through Syrovátka. At Syrovátka railway station, it connects with Cycle Route 4198 from Plačice to Dobřenice.

Culture and History

The history of the village is closely connected with sugar production. From 1880, a more than 3 km long siding ran from Dobřenice railway station to the Weinrich sugar factory in Syrovátka, which was later referred to as an agricultural sugar factory. The historic buildings of the local sugar factory date from the 19th and 20th centuries. The sugar factory was founded by Michal Václav Dobřenský from Dobřenice; from 1848 to 1850, it was built by master bricklayer Petr Špičák from Žitelice.

A striking detail of this industrial history is the chimney of the sugar factory in Syrovátka: it is 61 m high, has a circular shaft, and probably dates from around 1851. Smaller reminders of the village's history are also part of its character: a stone cross in Syrovátka dates from 1884 and was restored in 1908. The bell or bell tower of Syrovátka on the village square has been reconstructed.

Local traditions include Masopust, which was celebrated in Syrovátka in 2024, 2025, and 2026.

Village Character

Mature trees and other extensive green areas in the centre of Syrovátka contribute to the village's aesthetic character. Behind “Bláťáky,” a green belt was intended to serve as a quiet walking area.

Paths and Views

The “Dobřenická vyhlídková” hiking route offers views of Syrovátka and the chimney of the former sugar factory in Syrovátka.

Railway Station and Surroundings

Dobřenice railway station is served by Line 020 between Velký Osek and Hradec Králové. There is a public car park near Dobřenice railway station.
