Černilov: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Černilov lies in a gently hilly, predominantly agricultural landscape and stretches for several kilometres along the Černilovský potok stream. In good visibility, views extend as far as the ridges of the Giant Mountains and the Orlické Mountains.

Churches and history

The Church of the Discovery of Saint Stephen in Černilov was built between 1752 and 1756 according to plans by Donato Morazzi of Chrudim. Its slender tower is just under 40 metres high and is clearly visible throughout the surrounding area. Inside, there is a sandstone baptismal font dating from 1895.

The Middle Evangelical Church of the Czech Brethren in Černilov was built in the pseudo-Romanesque style. It has a round apse facing east and a tower above the western façade bearing the inscription “POKOJ VÁM”. Its furnishings include a single-manual organ and wall inscriptions with quotations from the Gospel of Luke and the Psalms.

The former Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in Černilov was completed in 1824. In 1969, it was taken over by the local national committee and subsequently converted into a funeral hall. The Church of Svatý Jiří is located in the wider regional surroundings of Černilov.

Culture and events

The cultural and community centre in Černilov serves as a leisure centre for the residents of Černilov and the surrounding area. It hosts courses, group activities, lectures, sports and exercise activities, concerts, discussion events, and meetings of interest and support groups.

The children's fishing competitions at Dolejšák are a traditional annual event for young anglers and their families.
