Villagescape and History

A wooden bell tower stands on the village square in Lejšovka. Next to the bell tower on the village square stands a sandstone cross dating from 1882. Opposite the pond stands a cast-iron cross on a stone pedestal that is considered worthy of monument protection.

The remains of a historic water castle, possibly dating from the second half of the 13th century, are located in Kalthouz Forest on the southern edge of the Lejšovka cadastral area.

Nature

The Kaltouz Biocentre and the Violky wet meadow are associated with Lejšovka, Smržov and Libřice. The wet meadow is home to the endangered tall violet species Viola elatior; in eastern Bohemia, it grows at only one other site besides this location.

The area around Lejšovka is criss-crossed by a network of cycle paths; cycle path 4166 passes through Lejšovka.

The local angling association regularly organises fishing competitions at Náveský rybník. A sports area with sand courts for tennis, volleyball and nohejbal is located next to Náveský rybník. The sports area also includes a small-sided football pitch.

The small-sided football tournament “O posvícenský tuplák” takes place every year on the last Saturday in August.

The former classroom is used for cultural purposes; aerobics and table tennis also take place there.
