Osičky: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Osičky is situated on elevated ground in a gently rolling, fertile agricultural landscape. For a long time, the village preserved its rural character, with buildings predominantly typical of agricultural farmsteads.

Landscape

Osičky lies on the southern edge of the escarpment of the Urbanice Furrow. There is a spring-fed pond in the western outlying area, on the Černská strouha stream. Public green spaces can be found around a revitalized fire-water reservoir and behind the children's playground.

Culture

The niche chapel with a bell tower is a brick structure. The bell tower has a roof; beneath it is an altar in a glazed niche. The bell tower in the village square is considered a monument of local significance. The monument to those who fell in the First World War is a sandstone monolith with a relief of the state coat of arms and a commemorative plaque for the fallen soldiers of the municipality of Vosiček.

History

Archaeological finds attest to prehistoric settlement in what is now Osičky. From the 11th century onward, Osičky belonged to Opatovice Monastery. Before the Second World War, local shareholders founded the Družstevní sušárna čekanky cooperative chicory-drying plant in Osičky.

Getting around

KČT cycle route 4198 branches off from Osice towards Osičky and runs to the edge of the village. At the edge of Osičky, near the statue of Saint John of Nepomuk, the cycle route continues towards Dobřenice along an unpaved field track that is easy to ride on with ordinary bicycles.
