Smidary Chateau is located on the right bank of the Cidlina. The grounds of the chateau originally contained a water fortress, documented together with a manor for the year 1413.

History

The masonry-built Smidary Chateau replaced the old fortress between 1810 and 1813. In Smidary’s archaeological core, a circular moat remains from the former fortification; it is best visible on the western side of the site. T-shaped cellar rooms have also been preserved beneath the northwestern part of the fortification.
