The centre of Roudnice features extensive lawns and well-maintained green spaces. The Roudnický potok stream flows through the centre of Roudnice. The extensive bodies of water on the western edge of the town offer opportunities for angling throughout the year.

Culture and History

The first written mention of Roudnice dates from 1384. The medieval and modern-era centre of Roudnice is designated as a Category ÚAN I archaeological area. The archaeological area includes locations with confirmed archaeological finds or where the presence of archaeological finds is reasonably presumed. The Church of Svatý Jiří is located in the vicinity of Roudnice.

A remnant of the former Roudnice fortress is an inconspicuous terrain edge north of the road and west of the agricultural complex. The former Půlpánův sklípek was used to cool milk.

The Roudnice war memorial was unveiled on 11 September 1921. Every year on 5 May and 28 October, commemorative ceremonies with the laying of flowers are held at the war memorial. The roof of the Roudnice cemetery chapel, including the tower, was completely reconstructed in 2017.

Events and Sport

The social year in Roudnice begins with carol singing on Epiphany and the ball season. Cultural events take place at the Přírodní divadlo in Roudnice during the summer.

The V Lesejčku area in Roudnice includes an open-air amphitheatre. The area also includes a multi-purpose sports field with an artificial surface. The Na starém hřišti sports complex in the centre of Roudnice has modern facilities for fire and rescue sport and other sporting activities.
