Landscape and Nature

Divec lies in a natural wedge formed by the Spáleník, Dehetník and Ouliště forest districts. The Dehetník forest complex includes the 285-metre-high Spáleník hill, a significant landscape feature. Most of the Dehetník forest complex and the adjacent fields are covered by the protected zone of the supraregional K 73 Orlice biocorridor.

In the vicinity of Divec, near Studánka Dehetník, there is a drinking-water spring, a wayside shrine, a water reservoir and a covered seating area. Studánka Dehetník is a destination for cyclists, hikers and families. Bus connections to Studánka Dehetník run via Divec, Slatina u HK and Blešno.

History

In 1417, Divec was divided between Hynek z Červené Lhoty and Opatovice Monastery. Below Spálený kopec, the discovery of a settlement pit contributed to the identification of a prehistoric settlement.

Traditions and Events

In Divec, the traditional Maypole raising takes place on the day after the witch-burning festivities. Dětský den traditionally takes place in Divec’s sports grounds; the event was announced for Sunday, 4 June, from 3 p.m. On Christmas Eve, Štědrovečerní zvonění takes place again at the bell tower in Divec at 2 p.m.
