Vysoká Nad Labem: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Vysoká nad Labem combines mixed and pine forests with the Labe floodplain. At 284.5 m above sea level, Milíř Hill is the highest point in the wide surrounding area and thus forms a distinctive geographical landmark of the locality.

Nature and Trails

Vysoká nad Labem is located on the “Labe Trail” cycle route. The section between Vysoká nad Labem and Smiřice offers a flat route with views of the river, peaceful nature, and the confluence of the Labe and Orlice rivers.

The Milíř observation tower is 31 m high and has a hexagonal viewing platform at a height of 27 m. Until further notice, the tower is closed due to its technical condition and a reconstruction planned for summer 2026. MHD bus routes 18 and 20 connect Vysoká nad Labem with Hradec Králové; the Milíř observation tower is approximately 200 m from the Vysoká nad Labem terminus.

History and Water Management

The Opatovický Canal at Opatovický splav was built in 1513 and is 35 km long. Over time, 32 mills were built along it.

A memorial plaque in Vysoká nad Labem commemorates the parachute group BARIUM’s jump on 3 April 1944; it was unveiled on 17 October 1993. A monument financed by the municipality was erected at the site of the tragedy in 1947, where these events are regularly commemorated.

Leisure and Orientation

The Vysoká nad Labem sports complex includes a grass football pitch, a beach volleyball court, a skatepark, and a workout area. Use of the sports facilities is subject to a fee; reservations are made electronically.
