Culture and History
The Church of St. George in Hněvčeves has been recorded as a parish church since the 14th century. The single-nave building has a rectangular floor plan and a right-angled presbytery; the late Gothic profiled portal is particularly noteworthy. A war memorial for the victims of the First World War stands beside the church.
The historic village setting also includes the vicarage in Hněvčeves, which has a mansard roof and was built in 1767. Another cultural connection is the composer Jan Křtitel Vaňhal, who worked at the local parish school in 1759. The Church of Svatý Jiří is also located in the wider regional surroundings of Hněvčeves.
