Chlumec Nad Cidlinou: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Deanery Church of St Ursula on Klicperovo náměstí was built under the rule of the Pernštejn family from 1536 to 1543 in the late Gothic and early Renaissance styles. It is the only surviving building from the Pernštejn period in the Pocidliní region.

Culture and History

The Loreta Museum is located in a former pilgrimage site that later served as a hospital and poorhouse. The building was reconstructed in its present form in 2001 and has served as a municipal museum since 2002. The exhibition focuses on Chlumec nad Cidlinou and its surroundings, primarily covering the modern era, and also includes a smaller section on archaeological finds from prehistory and the Middle Ages, as well as the remains of the former water castle.

Karlova Koruna was built from 1721 to 1723 with the involvement of the architect Jan Blažej Santini-Aichel and the builder František Maxmilián Kaňka. The château offers a traditional tour covering the history of one of the most important noble families, as well as a new interior exhibition on horses and parforce hunting.

Nature and Landscape

The Pamětník Nature Monument protects wet meadows, wetlands in former and partially flooded sand pits, small forests on gravel, and thermophilous meadow communities with rare plant, insect, and bird species.

Experiences

Klicperův Chlumec is an annual amateur theatre festival organised with the support of the Hradec Králové Region and the town of Chlumec nad Cidlinou.

Fajnpark Chlumec nad Cidlinou is presented as entertainment for the whole family; its attractions are divided into the areas of education, experiences, sport, and nature. The “City in Gardens” educational trail takes visitors through Chlumec nad Cidlinou and introduces important buildings and architectural monuments.
