Praskačka can be discovered through specific places, historical traces, and prominent points in the surrounding area. An important testament is the Church of the Most Holy Trinity, which dates in its present form from 1848. On 20 September 2017, it was transferred free of charge from the ownership of the Roman Catholic Parish of Opatovice nad Labem to the ownership of the Municipality of Praskačka. The church also has a new roof, repaired plaster, new electrical installation, and a final coat of paint.

Culture and History

The history of the locality also extends beyond individual buildings. Praskačka lies on the old Prague Road, along which carters travelled from Kłodzko to Prague and onward to the west. The Jaroslav Tománek Cooperage Museum is located in the Municipality of Praskačka near Hradec Králové. Five butter churns, each different from the others, are on display there. Another historical landmark is the memorial to the victims of the Second World War in Praskačka, a figurative monument in the style of Socialist Realism.

The Church of Svatý Jiří is also located in the vicinity of Praskačka. Thus, different forms of cultural heritage stand side by side both in the locality itself and in its surroundings: sacred architecture, craftsmanship, and remembrance culture.

Landscape and Surroundings

The hills of Kavkaz and Skupice are located in the immediate vicinity of Praskačka. The hill of Kozí kopec and the hill of U Žižkova stolu are also located in the surrounding area.

Historical Routes and Transport

The development of the locality also includes the Praskačka-Urbanice railway stop. It was initially established only for passenger services and was expanded with a freight station in 1894. Alongside the old Prague Road, the railway therefore also represents different forms of connection and transport in the history of Praskačka.

An Announced Hiking Day

The Praskačský dřevák tourist hiking day is announced for 5 September 2026 as its second edition. The date adds a planned hiking-related event to the existing historical and landscape points of interest.
