History and Memorial Sites

The history of Sendražice is first documented in 1297; at that time, Ondřej ze Sendražic owned land there. The memorial sites include a monument to the members of the Austrian 9th Field Jaeger Battalion, a monumental Secessionist sandstone monument in the form of a stele. It is dedicated to four soldiers of the Austrian 9th Field Jaeger Battalion and former fighter Josef Holdík from Sendražice. Beneath the memorial lime tree are a small bell tower and a reconciliation cross.

Church and Architectural Heritage

The Church of St Stanislaus has a Gothic core dating from the mid-14th century and was given a Baroque makeover at the beginning of the 18th century. It stands on a prominent spur at the northeastern edge of Sendražice, in a roughly oval cemetery enclosed by a perimeter wall.

The rural architectural heritage includes Farmstead No. 74. It is a Neoclassical rural farmstead typical of the Hradecko region and dates from around the mid-19th century. Enclosed on all four sides, it comprises a dwelling house, a barn and former stables.

Landscape and Routes

Sendražice is characterised as a forestry-agricultural landscape type. The marked, moderately difficult educational trail Naučná stezka is suitable for pedestrians and cyclists; in some sections, it follows marked hiking and cycling paths. Near Sendražice, the educational trail branches off, with one branch leading through Sendražice to Hořiněves.

The cycling circuit Okruh bojištěm bitvy 1866 also runs via Neděliště, Sendražice and Lochenice towards Hradec Králové.
