Nechanice: Apartments and Holiday Homes
In Nechanice, the Tvrziště Nechanice is a relic of a water fortress that was surrounded by three ramparts and a moat. It is located north of the built-up area on the right bank of the Bystřice, approximately 200 m from the northeastern corner of Nechanice’s market square with its church.
Culture
At the site where the birthplace of Jan Křtitel Vaňhal once stood in Nechanice, a memorial plaque was unveiled in 1998. A sculpture group depicts Saint Anne embracing the Virgin Mary; Mary is holding the Christ Child in her left arm.
Husovo náměstí is also home to a column featuring Saint Anne, the Virgin Mary and the Christ Child. It is probably a free copy of an original Baroque stone sculpture by an unknown artist from 1737.
Memorial Sites
The monument to members of the Red Army is a grave beside the wall separating Nechanice’s old and new cemeteries. It documents events in the region at the end of the Second World War.
Several monuments to those who fell in the War of 1866 stand in Štrossovy sady.
