Mlékosrby combines religious history with a distinctive river landscape and regional traditions. Churches, a chapel, and local folk architecture are just as central here as the course of the Cidlina River and the designated Mlékosrbský les Biocentre.
Culture
The Church of St. Philip and St. James in Mlékosrby has a Baroque core dating from 1709. The same church also contains the Kinský family crypt; it was established in 1818 and expanded in the 1930s.
The Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes in Mlékosrby was built by František Hladík in 1898 and solemnly blessed after its most recent restoration to date on September 15, 2018. Local folk architecture can also be seen in Mlékosrby.
Nature
The Cidlina River flows through the municipality of Mlékosrby. The Cidlina corridor in Mlékosrby includes an extensive floodplain and a clearly defined valley floor with a large proportion of permanently green land.
Mlékosrbský les is designated as the regional RBC150 Biocentre and extends across Kosice, Mlékosrby, and Písek. From Mlékosrby, Mlékosrbský les is accessible for short-term recreation.
The mineral spring in Mlékosrby is mildly thermal, at approximately 20 °C, and rich in dissolved substances, particularly carbon dioxide. It is located near the defunct spa at Jelínky, where Božena Němcová stayed in August 1861.
Events and Regional Products
The Mlékosrbský Jarmark is a recurring local folk festival featuring market stalls, attractions, demonstrations of historic technology, and presentations of historical uniforms, customs, and traditions. In its 15th edition, the 2026 Jarmark was listed in the calendar of regional food events, where award-winning regional food products could be sampled.
Roads and Transport
The municipality of Mlékosrby has motorized road traffic and public bus services, as well as routes for cyclists and pedestrians. Luková railway stop on line 040 from Chlumec nad Cidlinou to Ostroměř is less than one kilometer west of Mlékosrby.
