Písek: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Písecký duatlon consists of a 3 km run, followed by a 30 km road cycling section and another 3 km run. In the 2025 edition, the 30 km cycling route led from Písek via Kosice, Kosičky, Babice, Trnava, Boharyně, Zvíkov, Barchov, Barchůvek, Měník and Bydžovská Lhotka to Mlékosrby and back to Písek.

Geographical location

Písek is located on the southern edge of the Východolabská tabule.

Events

The Písecký koloběh is a 5 km competition for mixed teams of two: one person runs while the other rides a mountain bike. In the 2025 edition, the approximately 5 km route included crossing the Bystřice via a ford. The mini duathlon consists of a 1 km run, a 5 km mountain biking section and another 1 km run.

The Písecký turnaj v nohejbalu is a traditional sports tournament for teams of two; the 2025 edition was the 18th edition. Fishing competitions organized by SDH Písek took place at Hejbánek on 4 October 2025.

Culture

The Památník Svobody was erected in Písek in 1920 to commemorate local residents who fell in the First World War. In Písek near Chlumec nad Cidlinou, archaeologists discovered the remains of the dam of a late-medieval fishpond with an outlet or overflow. In terms of its scale and state of preservation, the discovered dam has no comparable counterpart in East Bohemian archaeology.

Cuisine

Sousedské vaření a pečení is a recurring culinary gathering at the Písek fire station. It included children baking sweet and savoury strudels, as well as a competition for the best Moravian tlačené koláče.

The Písecké posvícení traditionally takes place on the first weekend in November. It includes posvícenské koláčky as well as a public family programme with music, dancing, a children's carnival and a disco.

Nature

The historic Písecký Pond covered 114 hectares.
