History
At the edge of Svíb Forest stands a monument to the Austrian 8th Battalion of Field Jägers, commemorating the Battle of Hradec Králové in 1866. It depicts an larger-than-life Austrian Field Jäger of the 8th Battalion, made from Istrian limestone, and was created according to a design by the Viennese professor Viktor Tilgner. In the centre of the forest is the Alley of the Dead, where thousands of soldiers from both opposing sides fell; the Svíb area also contains more than 120 crosses.
The Pruský IR 27 monument stands at its original location. The pylon bears an artillery cross at its top, along with Czech and German inscriptions. In 2024, Rozsvícený Svíb was held for the 18th time. Its 2024 programme traditionally included a field mass and a commemorative ceremony at Myslivec.
Nature
In the western part of the undeveloped area lies the Šust fishpond; it forms the local biocentre LBC 1. Part of Svíb Forest is designated as the regionally significant biocentre RBC 983 Svíb.
