Kosičky: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Kosičky is located northeast of Chlumec nad Cidlinou on the right bank of the Bystřice. Třesický Pond covers 70 hectares. It was created before 1467.

Nature

In the southern to western part of Třesický Pond, retreat areas with diverse stands of waterside vegetation have been preserved, providing a habitat for several specially protected bird species. The meadows around Třesický Pond are regularly used for nesting by the critically endangered Black-tailed Godwit (Limosa limosa) and the Corn Bunting (Miliaria calandra).

History and Townscape

The medieval and modern-era centre of Kosičky is an area with documented or well-founded suspected archaeological finds. In 1936, a coin hoard containing 171 coins from the time of George of Poděbrady and Vladislaus II was found in Kosičky during the repair of an arcade.

Farm complex No. 46 in Kosičky is a preserved, high-quality example of a small agricultural farm complex from the second half of the 19th century. It was further remodelled at the beginning of the 20th century; it has been preserved as a coherent ensemble with a uniform façade design. Until the end of the 19th century, three wooden mills stood on the Bystřice in Kosičky: Divoký, Na hrázi and U mostku. Hrázka in Luhy is recorded as the last surviving mill on the Bystřice.

At the former site of Svatojánské lázně, there is a spring that remains accessible.

A weekday route from Kosičky via the Písníky and Třesický Pond to Obědovice was described as being 7.7 kilometres long. Bus connections from Hradec Králové to Kosičky or to Písník were scheduled for 6:50 and 11:20, as well as via Chlumec nad Cidlinou at 9:40; the return journey from Obědovice to Hradec Králové was listed at 15:18, 16:10 or 17:10.
