Hlušice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

At the northeastern edge of Hlušice, the château and church complex is located in the southwestern corner of an English park. The former Baroque château chapel of St. Barbara was converted into the present-day Church of St. Wenceslas after repairs carried out in 1903–1904. The complex also includes the statues of St. John of Nepomuk and St. Lawrence, which were relocated to the church building.

Culture and History

Archaeological finds in the area of Maršovky Street in Hlušice attest to settlement since the 5th millennium BC. The history of the village also includes the Renaissance fortress of Hlušice, which was damaged during the Thirty Years’ War.

The municipality of Hlušice is located seven kilometres from Nový Bydžov in the direction of Jičín.

Sports and Events

The Obecní areál Hlušice has a natural-grass football pitch measuring 100 × 60 metres, with a capacity of approximately 400 standing spectators. Conditions for holding cultural and social events such as church fairs and market celebrations, bonfires on Walpurgis Night, end-of-holiday celebrations and the Pohádková cesta have been improved at the Hliňák complex.
