Prachatice District: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Prachatice lies in the foothills that transition into the Šumava Mountains. The Blanice River and the Husinec Reservoir lie west of Prachatice. Possible plans for a stay in Prachatice District also include renting a holiday apartment.

Culture

The historic centre of Prachatice has been an urban monument reserve since 1981. The Prachatice town walls are classified as a cultural heritage attraction in Prachatice. The historic Golden Trail connected Bohemia with Bavaria. In the Middle Ages, Bavarian salt was transported to Prachatice along the Golden Trail. The historic Golden Trail had branches from Passau to Prachatice and Vimperk.

In Kratochvíle, visitors can take part in an extended guided tour that includes the Renaissance villa and the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary.

Nature

The core area of Boubínský prales has been a protected reserve since 1858. The path to Boubínské jezírko is suitable for wheelchair users and families with pushchairs. Jezerní slať is a raised bog in the Šumava Plain. Povydří is also an educational trail with information panels; cycling is prohibited.

Cycling

The chateau garden at Kratochvíle is wheelchair accessible and has paths with compacted sand. The Kratochvíle estate is connected to Netolice by a cycle path. Bicycles must be walked through the Kratochvíle garden; bicycle racks are located outside the chateau gate.

Trails

The Albrechtovice route is suitable for small children, but not for pushchairs. The Albrechtovice educational trail begins at Pod Perlovicemi; visitors can park a car there. The Golden Trail offers 631 kilometres of newly marked hiking trails. The Vimperk Walking Circuit is a circular route and is suitable for families with children. Hornická naučná stezka Albrechtovice is an approximately 500-metre-long educational trail with five stations about historic mining.
