Němčice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Němčice combine an early written history with distinctive sacred buildings and a signposted cycle route through the historic landscape of Netolice. Němčice are first mentioned in writing as early as 1220; this is among the oldest written references in the Prachatice District.

History and Sacred Architecture

The parish church of Saint Nicholas in Němčice is located on the site of a medieval necropolis of the lower nobility. The church has a Gothic winged altarpiece, and it also contains 15 funerary monuments. From its Romanesque-Gothic predecessor, it preserves the masonry of the nave and a portal on the southern side.

The Chapel of Saint Wenceslas

The Chapel of Saint Wenceslas stands on the eastern edge of Němčice. It is a rural niche chapel in the peasant Baroque style from the first quarter of the 19th century. Beside the niche, the chapel bears the stucco date 1818.

Cycle Route through the Historic Landscape

The Historic Landscape of Netolice cycle route is approximately 50 kilometres long. It is signposted and has 16 stations with information panels.

Geographical Location

The II/145 main road runs through Němčice and connects České Budějovice with large parts of the Šumava region. Mount Mužský is located in the vicinity of Němčice. Mount Skalka is also in the vicinity of Němčice, as is Mount Vrata. The ancient site of Chlumany is located in the wider regional surroundings of Němčice. Mount Kleť is likewise situated in this wider regional area.
