Kubova Huť: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The shortest route to the summit of Boubín starts from Kubova Huť. Hiking trails begin in Kubova Huť; there are also winter sports facilities and a museum on the history of the Golden Trail.

Nature and hiking

The “Around the Boubín Forest” hike begins in Kubova Huť on the blue-marked trail; the ascent to the observation tower begins less than 5 kilometres from the car park. The route is 17.9 kilometres long and leads along forest paths. It reaches Boubínský rybník, which formerly served as a water reservoir for a floating channel. At Boubínský rybník, there are benches and tables for resting and taking a break. The route then passes the Jilmová skála natural monument and runs along the forest educational trail.

The ascent to Boubín passes old military bunkers and reaches Bázumské louky, where covered seating is available. The observation tower on Boubín has been closed since 5 July 2025 due to a decision by structural engineers.

The Celtic educational trail “Keltská naučná stezka” begins in Kubova Huť and leads via Boubín and Mařský vrch to Věnec.

Winter

The “Ski area Kubova Huť” ski resort has four downhill slopes: one red and three blue. The red Střecha slope is 600 metres long. The ski resort uses artificial snowmaking and has lighting for evening skiing.

Culture and history

The Golden Trail Museum in Kubova Huť opened to the public in early August 2024. It contains local exhibits, videos, an artistically designed relief depicting the three branches of the Golden Trail, and information texts. The museum also includes covered seating for visitors and a room suitable for concerts. Its main focus is the history of the Golden Trail, and it also covers the history of glassmaking, forestry, and nature conservation.

The Vimperk branch of the Golden Trail passed through Kubova Huť in the past.
