Bošice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

At the summit of Mářský vrch stands the St. Wenceslas Rotunda, built in 1935. Mářský vrch is a protected natural monument with a sea of rocks; a Stations of the Cross trail leads to the rotunda on the mountain. The observation tower on Mářský vrch is 12 metres high and has a viewing platform at a height of 8 metres.

Nature and Educational Trails

The Naučná stezka jeřábka Bošíka educational trail leads through naturally developed woodland consisting of naturally regenerated trees and shrubs. These provide a habitat for numerous interesting plants and animals. At each station, the trail offers interactive elements; after completing the circuit, an open-sided gazebo is available for resting.

Bošík's Hazel Grouse Trail begins and ends on the southern outskirts of Bošice, on the slope of Mářský vrch. It was designed for younger children and offers interactive play elements at every station.

Hiking Routes

The Keltská naučná stezka educational trail is 27 kilometres long and has six stations in Kubova Huť, Boubín, Buk and at Mářský vrch, as well as two in Lčovice. One section of the Keltská stezka leads from Bošice towards Zálezel and Malenice.

History and Monuments

A historic route ran through the area of the later municipality of Bošice from Kunžvart, now Strážný, on the national border via Horní Vltavice, Pravětín, Trhonín and Láz, or later via Svatá Maří, Pržmo or Věnec, Zlešice and Volyně.

Bošice and the Brdo Forest are mentioned in a privilege granted by Queen Eliška Přemyslovna on 11 August 1314 for the royal district of Volyně.

The Věnec hillfort is a cultural monument and lies approximately 2 kilometres east of Budilov. The Věnec archaeological site was already inhabited in the Late Hallstatt period and the La Tène period.
