Kratušín: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Kratušín lies on the border of the Šumava Protected Landscape Area. From Kratušín, there is a view of Mount Boubín; the Blanice River flows in the immediate vicinity of Kratušín.

Nature

The Blanice Natura 2000 site (CZ 0313805) runs through the Kratušín area along the Blanice River. The preserved gold-washing spoil heaps in the river valley near Kratušín are designated as a national monument.

Culture

The Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is a brick building on an irregular hexagonal floor plan, facing north. A preserved chapel with a tower dating from the 18th century is a prominent feature of the Kratušín townscape.

Next to the Kratušín municipal office stands a preserved stone signpost at the historic crossroads. The farmstead at No. 8 in Kratušín bears the designation Č.r. 3605 II.

History

The first written mention of Kratušín dates from 1389; the former name Kratošín was still used in the 17th century. Historically, Kratušín was under the administration of the owner of Hus Castle.

Routes

Cycle Route 1111 runs along the local roads of Kratušín and is connected to other cycle routes in the Vlachovo Březí microregion. The Krajem Mistra Jana Husa excursion route passes through Kratušín and Chlístov.

The Blanice River in the section near Kratušín is navigable for watercraft, especially during the snowmelt.
