Pěčnov: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

In 2017, an international group of artists met in Pěčnov and carved various images, known as cosmograms, into stones. These works are known as the “Pěčnovské kamenné spirály” (Pěčnov stone spirals).

Culture

The Chapel of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary in Pěčnov was built and consecrated in 1873. Inside, there is a folk Neo-Gothic altar with statues of the Virgin Mary, Saint John of Nepomuk and Saint Leonard. Saint Florian is also depicted on the façade of the local chapel.

In the wider regional area around Pěčnov lies Chlumany, which is registered as an ancient site.

Pěčnov lies in the foothills of the Šumava Mountains and is surrounded by a hilly, forested landscape characterised by grassland. The mountains Volovický vrch, Včelenský vrch, Libín and Boubín are located around Pěčnov.

The multifunctional pergola in Pěčnov offers covered seating, sanitary facilities and the option of barbecuing. The seasonal multifunctional sports field is equipped for volleyball, nohejbal, football and tennis.

Pěčnovská hospůdka is located on the ground floor of the Pěčnov municipal office and offers 50 seats. For 2026, an invitation was issued in Pěčnov to the 19th gathering of small brass bands.

Two regional cycling circuits pass through Pěčnov: “From Vimperk to the Beauties of the Foothills of Šumava” and “Krajem cestovatele Vyšaty a kolem pošumavských menhirů”.
