Below Křišťanovice lies Křišťanovický Pond; its water surface is situated at 785 m above sea level. The pond is the highest-altitude pond in the Czech Republic and lies in the Šumava Protected Landscape Area in the Šumava foothills.

History and Culture

The ruins of Hus Castle are listed in the Czech register of immovable cultural monuments under registration number 3-3612. They preserve surviving wall remains and a moat. Hus Castle was founded after 1341 to protect the Golden Trail.

The Golden Trail formerly ran through Křišťanovice and is mentioned as early as 1359. In the wider regional surroundings of Křišťanovice lies Chlumany, which is registered as an ancient site.
