Buk Pod Boubínem: Apartments and Holiday Homes

Boubín Primeval Forest represents a landscape with great temporal depth. Its core consists mainly of beech, spruce, and fir trees; the oldest spruces and firs are 300 to 400 years old. The Boubín Primeval Forest National Nature Reserve extends into the cadastral area of Včelná pod Boubínem and was designated on July 1, 1858. The protected area spans elevations from 874 to 1,362 meters. The summit of Boubín lies in the cadastral area of Včelná pod Boubínem at an elevation of 1,362 meters. Protected features include natural forest stands with rare and endangered plant and animal species.

Nature

The natural area also includes Čertova stráň. The Čertova stráň Nature Reserve encompasses the cadastral area of Včelná pod Boubínem; Čertova stráň also includes a gorge of the Boubín Brook with fir vegetation. Its steep slopes were shaped by periglacial processes. The Poušť natural monument, with numerous nests of the red wood ant, is also located in the vicinity of Včelná pod Boubínem.

Paths and Forest Monuments

The Lukenská road runs from Včelná pod Boubínem to Zátoň. The section near Včelná pod Boubínem was built between 1848 and 1855. At the forest edge along the route from Včelná pod Boubínem toward Boubín stands the Sloupový smrk stone monument. The spruce commemorated by the monument dried out prematurely and was felled in 1970.

Chapels and Memorial Sites

A small obelisk on the summit of Boubín, bearing the inscription “Cardinal Prince of Schwarzenberg, 3.8.1867,” commemorates the visit of the Archbishop of Prague. The present-day Chapel of St. Hubert was built in 2001 as an approximate replica of a wooden chapel from 1905 and consecrated on October 3, 2001. It is located in the cadastral area of Včelná pod Boubínem, in a forest south-southwest of the village, near the former Boubín hunting lodge. A memorial stone with a cross stands at a forest crossroads near the entrance to the game preserve in Včelná pod Boubínem. The U Monumentu memorial stone bears the date 1848/55 and the inscription “AUS DANKGEFÚH”.

Village History and Iron Museum

The Chapel of Our Lady of Mount Carmel on the village square in Včelná pod Boubínem dates from 1817. The Iron Museum of Včelná pod Boubínem is located in the large farmhouse No. 5. The Nuska family collection comprises more than 1,300 exhibits.
