Ktiš is located in the Šumava foothills. The original settlement of Ktiš was founded before 1369 on the estate of the Zlatá Koruna monastery.

The Miletínky Nature Reserve is located in the municipality of Ktiš. It protects relict stands of serpentine pines with juniper in the shrub layer. Ktišský rybník covers approximately 5 hectares. Natural bathing is possible at Ktišský rybník.
History and Architectural Heritage
The Church of Saint Bartholomew in Ktiš was originally Gothic and was remodeled in the Baroque period. The Dobrá Voda Chapel and a Stations of the Cross are located on the slope of Ktišská hora mountain. The stations of the Stations of the Cross near Dobrá Voda Chapel form a circle approximately 50 meters in diameter. Chlumany is an ancient site in the vicinity of Ktiš.
Paths and Water
The green-marked KČT hiking trail from Ktiš to Březovík runs along the dam of Ktišský rybník. The yellow-marked Ktiš–Miletínky route was relocated to paths outside the Boletice military area.

Vrata is a mountain in the immediate vicinity of Ktiš, as is Chlum. Rohanovský vrch is a mountain in the vicinity of Ktiš. Břevniště is also a mountain in the vicinity of Ktiš.
Events
The municipality of Ktiš is the main organizer of the Open Air Fest Ktiš. The event takes place on the sports field behind the village in the direction of Volary. The Ktišská Bartolomějská pilgrimage is combined with Bartolomějské markets and wooden carousels.
